Porridge really is the most wonderful way to start the day. It leaves you feeling warm inside and full of energy for the day. Scottish oats combined with Scottish Honey are truly fantastic. We are using alternative oats at the moment, we still use dairy but its good to mix things up and not rely on one type of product. Enjoy while reading the paper with a lovely cup of coffee or a breakfast tea. Or for those of you with little ones, eat it while standing so your kids don’t get their mucky hands in the bowl!
Another way to have this perfect porridge is cold as a Bircher Muesli. This involves mixing all the ingredients together and leaving it in the fridge overnight. Its a much lighter way to eat it and the soaking allows the food to be broken down before it is consumed making it easier to digest in the morning.
Oats are a gluten-free grain and are amongst the most nutrient dense foods you can eat. They contain protein, fibre, carbs AND fats. They are also a great source of antioxidants.
